how to get there Just north of Bude is a set of 3 beaches, Sandymouth, Northcote and Duck Pool, each of these beaches is reached by a tortuous narrow winding road from the A39 down to the sea. When you reach the end of the road you are rewarded with beautiful beaches that don't get to crowded.

As you can see, the day we visited to take these pictures the surf was messy (not surfable) and it was high tide. If you look at our Sandymouth page you should get an idea of how the beach will change at low tide. At high tide there is only pebbles to sit on, as the tide receeds there is plenty of hard packed (wet) sand to sit and play on
