Widemouth Bay

how to get there A30 just past Launceston, take the A395 to North Cornwall, follow signs to Bude. Once on the A39, Widemouth is about 9 miles up the road on the left. (this route is not the shortest but is a faster route using better roads)

parking at the beach (Pay and Display) The upper part of the carpark has recently been tarmacced. CarPark is extended during busy periods so you can normally find somewhere to park within 100 yards of the beach.

facilities in the carpark - a cafe, toilets, outdoor fresh water shower, public telephone. 200yd walk to surf hire and more beach shops.

comments A popular family beach. Can get busy, but the car-park is very large and there normally is a spare space somewhere in the height of the summer. It is another of those beaches to go to if the surf is looking a bit sparse, Widemouth will normally have something. Its one of our fave beaches as it is easily reached from the A30, across country to the A39, the route is normally free of holiday traffic. This place is wild in the winter, see the bent trees for evidence!
