Exmouth
Exmouth has a thriving windsurfing population and is growing on the kitesurfing scene too. (See location - Duckpond) It also has a jetski launch pad too. There are notices all the way along the beach front showing currents, bouys, channels, where it is safe and where it is not, there some spots allocated to particular sports. Please read these signs and adhere to the advice. how to get there from M5, junction 30, Exeter Services exit, Exmouth is signposted, take the A376. approx 8 miles. parking there is limited (2 hours) parking all the way along the sea front, and many all day car parks. Parking is free in winter (due to the fact that the parking machines get corroded if left out all winter!). facilities the sea front has a variety of cafes, shops, pubs, a wind/kite surf shop for lessons hire etc. Thriving town centre too. comments the beach is primarily a tourist/family beach - buckets and spades etc. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in summer (except at Orcombe Point). Exmouth is also famous for its New Years Eve Celebrations. It is the number 2 or 3 spot in the UK for being the place to be. Everyone in the town dresses up in fancy dress....and a good craic is had by all.
