Putsborough Putsborough is at the opposite end of the bay to Woolacombe, the approach to it is down a series of narrow roads. It is best approached at quieter times of the year or very early in the morning. (Unless you don't mind stopping starting, giving way, reversing and all that type of jazz in order to get there). At the end of the tortuous journey there you are rewarded with a fantastic view across the bay and a hefty fee to park your car (they charge nearly every day of the year). There is a caravan owners site there, toilets and cafe. The car park is above the beach, so you can park and watch the waves before changing into wetsuits etc. there are lifeguards during the summer months Several of the photos below show a SurfPro board, this is a cross between surfing and kayaking. It is best described as a sit on surf board you use with a paddle. It seems to be much more lightweight than the hollow plastic sit-on kayaks you see more often in the waves.
