Santander Santander is on the coast of northern Spain, to be precise its in Cantabria. Those of you who are brave enough to endure the 24 hour ferry journey across the Bay of Biscay will be familiar with the Port of Santander. Arriving by ferry you can spend the last 45 minutes of the journey on top the boat gazing across at the snow capped mountains and fantastic beaches and shoreline. Arriving at Santander is a joy! (for more reasons than the scenery) All to many people get in their cars and drive straight out of Santander all to impatient to get started on their onward journey, but its worth taking a little time to drive out to El Sardinero to grab a coffee/wine/beer and tapa and to wander along the promenade. If the surf is up you will be able to see the locals take on the Wall, or El Muro as the locals call it. You will need to drive to the far end of the beach to see the Wall. if you fancy taking it on, try to have a chat with the locals first.
We have more images on El Muro on our Facebook pages please click here to be taken to our Facebook Photo album |
