Kite Buggy Mods

Once you have a kite buggy there are a few modifications you can make to make it abit more comfy!

We have found that the addition of a back rest helps!! Why suffer with a tired back when you can add a back rest!! We designed ours based on the typist chair back rest.

These rests are jigsawed in marine ply, tapered at the base to allow them to fit around the seat. The back is then padded with dense foam, cut to the same shape. The whole thing is then covered with plastic fabric stapled in to place.

Top image are Peter Lynn Comp Buggy, note the extra wooden blocks to push the back rest forwards.

Left - Flexifoil Sport

Having paid £10.00 for an official Flexifoil Foot Strap, we made a foot strap for The Peter Lynn with old webbing from a backpack!

Both our buggies have pipe insulation around the frame, for comfort whilst leaning. I keep my golfball Stake on the central column too, for ease of access.

TANDEM MODS

We tried joining 2 buggies together by immobilising the front wheel in the trailing buggy using rope styled snow chains. The problem with this was that even though it was fine for the kids, an adult in the second buggy pushed the wheel to the ground.

So our second attempt was using carabinas through the fork pegs on the second buggy, attached to the first buggy with webbing.
